The pro-chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Wale Babalakin, has resigned from the position.
Mikail Mumini, Mr Babalakin’s spokesman, confirmed his resignation today, “Yes, it is true. He did in Abuja today. That is the nature of the country we have found ourselves.” he said.
Mr Babalakin tendered his resignation letter shortly after a visitation panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari , submitted its report of the university.
It can be recalled that on August 12, at an emergency meeting held at the National Universities Commission (NUC), in Abuja, the Babalakin governing council announced the removal of the university substantive vice-chancellor, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe
