A picture surfaced of the Ooni of Ife and Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the coronation of the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, where the Ooni stood to greet the sitting leader.
The former aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode, has kicked against the former governor of Lagos State and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for not respecting the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
According to the former minister, he stated in a tweet that Tinubu’s behaviour was deeply insulting to every Ife son and daughter.
He wrote: “That the Asiwaju of Bourdillon refused to stand up to greet the Ooni of Ife speaks volumes.
“This was not only deeply insulting to every Ife and indeed son and daughter of Odua but it is also a crying shame.
“Would a northern political leader refuse to stand up for his traditional ruler?”
