The chief medical director and managing directors of federal tertiary hospitals has been directed by Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of Health, to begin the use of consultants and doctors on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to provide routine services.
The directive was given today, September 9, following the nationwide warning strike embarked on by the National Association of Resident Doctors to protest the non-payment of their non-payment of the Covid-19 hazard allowance and other demands.
He also instructed that emergency services should continue to run as before. Routine checks should be maintained with consultants, NYSC Doctors.
This is coming after The Minister of state for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora in a recent interview with Channels tv said, “We’ve been able to disburse close to N20billion. So, to now say nothing has been done, that is not true”
