We’ve Left Everything To God – Leah’s Mother

Mrs Rebecca Sheribu, mother of the only abducted Dapchi schoolgirl still in captivity, Leah, says the family has surrendered everything to God.

The Boko Haram insurgents, who killed a humanitarian aide worker, Hauwa Leman on Tuesday, had said they would make Leah a slave.

But her mother said she was yet to see the video or read any news content on the incident due network problem in Dapchi town. “I only saw a headline, but could not open the link.

“I couldn’t sleep when my nephew told me that the aid worker (Hauwa Liman) was killed and more devastated that my daughter would be slave for life.

“Government has promised to secure their freedom and see what happen, I have nothing more to say. I surrendered everything to God” she said.

Her husband, Mr Sheribu, said he did not want to say much about the development, adding that: “We will continue to pray for her safety with a hope that one day she will return home. We thank everyone for all the support and prayers during this trying moment, and we will continue to have trust in God”.
