The Party revealed this, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, a copy of which was made available to our Political Correspondent, Yomi Ayeleso in Akure, the State capital, over the weekend.

Adesanya described the Governor’s action as a “daylight robbery” of the commonwealth of the good people of Ondo State.

Adesanya said, “we have authoritatively gathered that the outgoing Governor of the State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, whose tenure expires in twelve (12) days’ time has approved a take-home package of N500 million (taxpayers’ money), as valedictory package for the eighteen (18) Local Council Chairmen, Mr. Tunde Atere of Ministry of Mineral Resources (who oversees the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), and Mr. Governor himself”.

The Party said, “each of the Council Chairmen and Mr. Atere and senior civil servants (names withheld) who are involved in facilitating documentation and perfection of the loot are to part with N20 million, while, Mr. Governor goes with a lion share of N300 million.

“We want to appeal, caution and warned the Accountant General of the state, Permanent Secretaries (PS), especially the PS in charge of local government service commission, not to succumb to pressure by Mimiko and his cronies to milk our state dry before the expiration of their 8 year rule. There shall be commensurate negative consequences for every wrong actions or inactions.

The Party, therefore cautioned Banks and other financial institutions not to get involved in any shady deals with this outgoing Governor and his cronies, the statement reads.
