Councillor Denies Attacking Ekiti Monarch on Facebook

The Councillor representing Ayetoro-Ekiti ward 11 in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State Legislative Council, Mr Oluwaseun Owoola has denied attacking the traditional ruler of Ayetoro-Ekiti community, His Royal Highness, Oba Olufisan Ajayi on facebook as currently being speculated by his political traducers.

Owoola, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Health of Ido/Osi Local Government Legislative Council, hails from Ayetoro-Ekiti.

In a statement on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, Owoola said there was no truth in the rumour being spread around that he accused Oba Ajayi of collecting a huge sum of money from the administrations of former Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi and former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan for some unnamed community projects without executing them.

Describing Oba Ajayi as a man of impeccable integrity, Owoola said as a true son of Ayetoro-Ekiti, he would never do anything that would go to the detriment of his monarch and the community.

“Oba Ajayi is like a father to me. In actual fact, Baba is a member of my nuclear family. As a man who is just growing up politically, it would amount to height of stupidity if i do what my political opponents are spreading around.

“I hold Oba Ajayi in high esteem. He’s a man of unquestionable character. There was no time, either on facebook, twitter or on air that i accused my kabiyesi of collecting money from Fayemi and Jonathan to execute some community projects. The allegation was a figment of imagination of those who brought it up” Owoola stated.
