Coronavirus: ECOWAS directs staff to go on self-isolation

The ECOWAS Commission has directed its staff who had been on missions to any high-burden country or country with local transmission of Coronavirus to go into self-isolation for 14 days. The concerned workers were instructed to observe the precaution within two weeks of returning to their duty station. Abuja doctors begin strike as FG announces new Coronavirus case

The Abuja Chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors on Tuesday began an indefinite strike in the midst of the announcement of a new Coronavirus case in Lagos. BREAKING: Inflation rate rises to 12.2%, highest record in 21 months ― NBS

National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said that the consumer price index, (CPI) which measures inflation increased by 12.20% (year-on-year) in February 2020. In its inflation report for February 2020 released on Tuesday,  the agency explained that the figure was 0.07% higher than the rate of 12.13% recorded in January 2020. The food index rose from 14.85% recorded in January to 14.9% in February 2020 while core inflation increased by 0.08% to stand at 9.43% compared to 9.35% recorded in the preceding month.

Coronavirus: Turkey to evacuate more than 3,600 from 9 European countries

A total of 3,614 citizens, either visiting or studying, in nine European countries, will be flown back on 34 separate Turkish Airlines flights, Cavusoglu told a news conference in Ankara. The Federal Government says it has no plans to impose travel restrictions on visitors from countries where coronavirus continues to spread rapidly. However,  Nigeria has decided to screen visitors entering the country from  China (where the disease originated last year), Japan, Iran, Italy, Germany, France,  South  Korea and Spain.
